I am a student of class 11 from Calcutta Boys High school. I have recently participated in a health and hygiene awareness campaign from our school. This letter is intended to express my concern regarding this issue and the need for such campaigns.
Calcutta boys High school has recently launched an extensive health and hygiene awareness campaign in order to counter several threads imposed by various unhygienic malpractices. Health is the most fundamental concern of human life. No matter what circumstance it is, health and hygiene issues should never be neglected. We have faced the threat of various mosquito-borne diseases, viral diseases, and even epidemics due to unhygienic and unhealthy lifestyles. Under this campaign, we intend to promote a healthy lifestyle through our agendas.
In my opinion, schools are the basic unit of society that should come forward in order to deal with such social issues. So, through this letter to your esteemed daily, I want to appeal to all the schools of the city to put a step forward and organise such social welfare campaigns.

Sir,
I am a health care worker from Kolkata, currently working in a covid word and a regular follower of your esteemed daily. I am writing this letter to you to talk about my professional experience during this pandemic and express concerns about the unhygienic and unhealthy habits of my fellow citizens.
Due to my current profession, daily I deal with hundreds of people in the hospital as well as outside the hospital premises. One common attitude I have noticed among people is the carelessness regarding the pandemic. People who come with severe Covid-19 symptoms are quite panicked but still careless. Inside the hospital, they are bound to wear masks but people I deal with outside the hospital hardly follow the guidelines of wearing masks, sanitizing their hands, and properly using handkerchiefs. Sir,
Covid-19 has hit the world very hard. According to the World Health organisation, nobody is safe until everybody is safe. The entire world is fighting to counter this threat of coronavirus. Extensive vaccination is the new norm for all governments. We must follow a healthy and hygienic lifestyle to keep ourselves safe in such a situation.
Health and hygiene should be the first priority of any human’s life. Hygienic habits not only help to fight against diseases but also promote a holistic healthy life. But unfortunately, in our country, a large number of people highly neglect the issue of health and hygiene. This is what leads to an increase in the spread of such pandemics. Though the government has come out with specific hygiene guidelines for this crisis situation, a large number of people are hardly maintaining it. They don’t even wear masks, wash their hands properly, and moreover, a large number of people still have a tendency of spitting on the streets. These unhygienic habits increase the vulnerability to various diseases not only for them but also for other people.
So, it is high time to organise extensive health and hygiene awareness programmes in order to make people aware of proper hygienic habits and promote a healthy India.

Sir,
The central government has finally to conduct extensive health and hygiene awareness campaigns in order to provide a healthy lifestyle for everyone. This letter to you is intended to express my view on this step taken by the government.
Our country has been hit hard by the pandemic like the rest of the world. But unlike the developed countries, we have some serious lack of health and hygiene awareness among a large number of people in our country. Health care experts, as well as social welfare activists, have been demanding an initiative from the level of the centre since the pandemic began. Finally, the government has decided to initiate a large-scale nationwide campaign for promoting good hygienic habits. Programs for this campaign will be organised from now on around various parts of the country under the ambitious fit India mission of the Central Government. According to a spokesperson of the ministry of Ayush, various celebrities, as well as public figures, will take part in this awareness program.
In my opinion, this initiative by the central government has huge potential and a proper policy initiative is needed. Now, the time will tell whether this initiative can achieve the dream of a healthy and hygienic India or not.
