13th November; Morocco: A fairly strong earthquake shook Morocco and it’s Vicinity on Saturday morning at about 10.28 a.m. Morocco’s meteorological agency said the quake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was located in the southern part of Morocco border.
The intensity of the quake in Morocco was measured at 3. The loss is very effective and it will take quite much time to recover. Every help centre is working at its best. But a huge problem with transportation is being observed.
As per the railway officials, many local and passenger train services had to be suspended. People have gone shelterless. There are only a few buildings in the area that stood strong during the quake. Some people were shifted to some official houses and schools.
Due to transportation issues, poor management of food has been observed. But everybody is trying their hardest to stay beside. According to the higher authority of the government, they are trying to take necessary actions as soon as possible and placed a request for a relief fund from the United Nations.
But still, no response came from the side of the UN. Neighbouring countries like Spain and Algeria came in the front to help Morocco in their rescue operations.

21st October; Costa Blanca: Normal life got a major hit by an earthquake in Costa Blanca, Spain at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain has been nearly devastated by the hit of the earthquake.
Spain’s meteorological team said that the quake was measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was located in Costa del Sol. Numerous buildings completely got demolished by the hit.
The air was too claustrophobic as well. So the people who saved themselves from the quake were attacked by the tremendous air pollution. No hospitals are in a situation to work in a normal way. Numerous people are dead and injured.
The actual value of total loss could not be measured yet. Some government agencies are suspecting it will exceed millions of euros. European Union has also come into action to help the Spanish government in their rescue operation.
Experts are assuming that the reconstructional activities with several months to get completed. The United Nations have also promised to send their dedicated disaster management force if required.
Local people, as well as tourists present, are mostly shelterless and in trauma. The rescue force has taken them to a safe haven away from the epicentre.

Earthquake Hit Kerala Again, 3 killed

4th December; Kozhikode: The busy city of Kozhikode was hit by a major earthquake yesterday. The state government is considering this as the greatest loss of Kerala observed in recent times due to this deleterious earthquake.
The quake struck Kozhikode and its neighbouring places at around 7 p.m. The area’s electricity was cut and the buildings were faced huge damages. 3 casualties are reported since the hit. The tremor was measured at 6.8 on the Richter Scale.
All the connections over the phone were destroyed. Nobody is currently able to contact their family members or friends. Transportation was dismissed and the train and the services have been cancelled. According to the last report, 4 buildings in Thiruvananthapuram are knocked down but no bodies have been found till now.
Meanwhile, the frightening people came out of their houses and didn’t even want to go back to their home due to trauma. Children are very frightened. The national disaster management team has come into the action.
The governing body of the city is trying to arrange an alternative temporary shelter for the shelterless people. The situation in the city is quite messed up currently.

Vadodara Hit by Major Earthquake, Remembering 2001

June 15; Vadodara, Gujarat: Again a major earthquake in Vadodara yesterday, made Gujarat remember the 2001 disaster. According to an eye witness, the earth shook under his feet at around 6:30 evening.
As per the report published by the Indian meteorological department the hit of the blow was measured as 5.8 in the Richter scale. Many buildings have got serious cracks in their construction. But fortunately, no report of casualties has been recorded as yet.
But complete transportation in the area has collapsed due to the serious damage on highways and rail tracks. Mobile networks and internet broadband connections have been seriously affected as well due to the hit.
The chief minister went on and observed the epicentre through a helicopter. He addressed the people of the area through a speech on radio and promised that the restoration process will be completed as soon as possible.
Some small buildings have been completely demolished and many people went shelterless. The local municipal body has arranged three school buildings as temporary shelter areas for distressed people.
The prime minister has also promised to help with funds and disaster management force in the rescue operation if needed.
