Subject: Unemployment is hitting families hard
Sir,
I am writing this letter to your esteemed daily to express my concern over the menace of rising unemployment in our country as well as around the entire world.
Recently my family has been hit hard by this menace. My father used to work in a private firm that sustained our livelihood. Recently he has lost his job as the firm sacked him during a retrenchment program. In such a situation, our family is facing not quite less than some economic disaster. Due to this, I have been unable to pay my school fees for this year. Many people like my father have lost their jobs in different companies recently and are currently unemployed. In such a state of no job security, sustaining our livelihood is becoming hard nowadays. My father was the only earning member of our family.
Through the column of your newspaper, I want to appeal to all the readers to raise their voice regarding this issue. The government must step into the matter and provide the citizens working in the corporate sector at least with some level of job security.
Yours Sincerely,
Rajesh Dutta

Subject: Pandemic and lockdown caused heavy unemployment
Sir,
Through the esteemed column of your daily newspaper, I want to express my grave concern over the issue of the rising rate of unemployment around the entire world.
The pandemic and consequent lockdown have hit our world hard. Due to this all kinds of economic activities have been stopped for an indefinite period. As a result, millions of people are losing their jobs and our world is on the way to facing heavy unemployment. The unorganised sectors are affected most severely through this disaster. Naturally, a large population is sinking into the menace of poverty.
The international and continental organisations should immediately start looking for a solution to this issue. Many economists are suggesting many different methods to get this resolved. But we should first focus on mitigating the effect of this pandemic that all types of economic activities get back to their tracks. Till then, all governments should support their unemployed population with all means they need to sustain their life.
Yours Sincerely,
Rumi Bannerjee

Subject: Unskilled workforce and sudden pandemic behind 50 years the high unemployment rate
Sir,
This letter to your esteemed daily is intended to express my concern over the issue of the rising rate of unemployment in our country and curate the reasons behind this phenomenon.
According to a recent survey by a government organisation, the unemployment rate in our country is now hitting 50 years high. According to many experts, Since independence, India has never faced such a phenomenon of extreme job losses that are the primary reason behind this unemployment. The government has decided to form a committee to look into this matter.
A government spokesperson has said that the pandemic and the consequent back to back lockdowns are the primary reason. Though it is a definite reason behind this phenomenon, India has started facing job losses since the year 2016. Experts say that demonetisation and especially extensive digitalisation has left a large portion of the workforce ineffective and unsuitable for the new system. The survey also says that 80% of the country’s youth is unskilled and hence unemployable in the modern digital corporate world.
Yours Sincerely,
Aditya Bansal

Subject: Skill India program has the potential to revolutionise India’s workforce
Sir,
Through this letter to your esteemed daily, I want to express my view on the recently launched ‘Skill India’ program by the government of India to provide job opportunities to the youth of the country.
During the last few years, our country is witnessing an all-time high unemployment rate due to many reasons. According to a government survey, 80% of our country’s youth is unskilled hence unemployed. The central government has launched the ‘Skill India’ program to train the youth with the necessary skills for different sectors to address this issue. The minister of education has said that the trainees will also be provided with job opportunities after completing their course under this program.
In such a situation of heavy unemployment, such an initiative is always welcome. Experts say that it has enormous potential to revolutionise India’s workforce in different fields. But through this initiative, the government has only addressed one reason behind the rising unemployment. So, I want to appeal to the government that with this initiative the government must take some steps to ensure some level of job security in the unorganised sectors as well.
Yours Sincerely,
Barun Goswami
