Subject: Spreading of Dengue due to stagnation of water in the locality

Sir

I am writing to you to draw your attention to the spread of Dengue in my locality. There has been a significant increase in the number of cases of Dengue in the last few days.

I would like to tell the authorities that the stagnant water should be cleaned at every corner of the road so that to prevent the number of cases of Dengue from growing. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to cooperate with the government for a secure future. The health department has issued a statement to be vigilant with disease prevention and be sure to clean our homes on a regular basis. Being responsible citizen it is our duty to keep the surroundings clean and prevent diseases. Like the health department is providing awareness in our locality about the spreading of diseases, it is also our duty to follow their instructions and be cautious about the spread of diseases.

I hail your effort to publish the letter urging the govt to tackle the situation. The government must immediately come up with mosquito control measures. As a citizen, we should come forward and spread words of awareness to save our city from the clutches of the dengue virus.

Subject: Measures to take to prevent the spread of Dengue

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to voice my opinion about, the population of mosquitoes being tremendously increased, which brings along with it, the spread of dengue.

As the monsoon has arrived in India and mosquitoes are breeding at every corner of the city, people have to take precaution. The other day patient with a suspected case of dengue was admitted to the hospital. It’s high time we took steps to prevent our children from contracting the disease. So it’s time we cleaned the surroundings, reduced the concentration of water elements in stagnant forms and take care to keep the surroundings clean. Fogging or spraying of larvicide must be taken up by the municipality as mosquito control measures.

I am writing in order to request that the concerned authorities, increase awareness about the dangers of dengue fever and urge all the citizens to take necessary precautions in order to protect their families from this serious illness.

Yours Sincerely
Amrita Banerjee

Subject: Inefficiency of the authority attributes to spread of dengue in DLF Block.

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to express my grave concern about the spread of dengue in our locality.

Dengue cases are on the rise in our locality. All drains and open water sources are overflowing and overflowing garbage makes matters worse at this time of the year. I think we should come together as a community and get the issue sorted as soon as possible. In the past two months at least 25 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in the city. We had been asking for better public awareness and precautions, but it’s unfortunate that we are still waiting for a solid plan. It’s time to get serious about this issue as it poses a threat to all of us.

On behalf of the residents of D.L.F Block, I am requesting the concerned authorities to step up to resolve the issue before the situation gets worse. As a citizen, we should also come forward to create awareness among the people.

Yours Sincerely
Rajat Mehta

Subject: Awareness Drive against the spread of dengue.

With the dengue fever engulfing a number of states, many people are worried about it. Please allow me to focus through the columns of your esteemed daily on how we can reduce the chances of spreading dengue in our city.

With the onset of the monsoon season, mosquito activity is increasing. The Aedes aegypti mosquito responsible for transmitting Dengue and Chikungunya breeds in stagnant water. It gets agitated by any physical disturbance of its breeding grounds or water container. So it is essential to constantly remove debris and upturn containers so that they are not able to breed and multiply. We should try wearing full sleeve clothes Mosquito repellents containing DEET or picaridin should be used before going outside, If you have a fever, rash, joint pain headache or any other symptoms, contact the doctor immediately. Although dengue fever is not usually fatal, there may be complications that can cause death in extreme cases.

I would like to request the government to held awareness campaigns against dengue in local clubs and school at a regular interval. We need to help educate our neighbours and friends about the dangers of Dengue in order to protect ourselves and those we care about

Yours Sincerely
Ananya Deshmukh
