Dear Diary,

I just came back from the most amazing holiday ever, it was my dream to visit such a lush and beautiful scene and the opportunity finally came when my father thought of taking a family vacation to the hills of Kalimpong.

Everything fell into place and I was excited for my summer vacations to begin. After a short journey through the Himalayas, we finally reached Jhandi, Kalimpong. The journey was tiring but the scenery was well worth the effort, all of us took a moment to grasp this beautiful landscape and my wish to visit a hill station with all my loved ones had finally arrived.

I loved everything about that trip from the places we stayed to the small car trips we took there. My most fond memory was of a horse ride up the hill to see an early sunrise. As the sun rose up my heart was filled with joy to see such stunning scenery and I wish I could see it every day. Dear Diary, I am going to visit Jhandi again as soon as I can, till then I have all these fond memories that I will cherish all my life.

Dear Diary,

This summer vacation was special as I got to visit this beautiful hill station of Coorg along with all my friends and classmates. I was excited to know then, that we were visiting one of the regions in South India which still has people from an Arabian descent, being a history enthusiast this trip was a huge opportunity for me to meet them and learn about their culture.

The kuppia- a traditional attire worn by the Kodavas, was something I found really interesting but the show stopper was the amazing scenic beauty of Coorg, their lush hillside forests as well as the cuisine the Kodavas make, the spices and their way of cooking has really inspired me. The most interesting place we all went to was a visit to a local pepper farm.

It was about educating us about black pepper production and the way the locals there earn their livelihood. Life in a hill station is tough but also filled with small adventures every day, and I wish to visit the hills of Coorg once again soon.

Dear Diary,

My Aunt has been staying in Kurseong, a hill station known for its boarding schools and she has been teaching there for the past 4 years now, so when she asked me to come visit, I was very excited. Kurseong is a small hill station in the state of West Bengal with a rainy climate and yet the scenic beauty there does not lose out to any of those renowned hill stations.

My Aunt has a small cottage there and I loved playing with my cousins in their front yard. The long walks we took along the hilly roads or the short trip into town to eat delicious momos is something that I will always remember. Dear Diary, the few days I spent there will be cherished for a long time to come and I hope to visit there soon.

Dear Diary,

I got the opportunity to visit Darjeeling with my cousins. The queen of hills is an apt description while talking of Darjeeling, situated in the lush hills of the Himalayas it has too many beautiful scenes to take in. It has always been my wish to visit Darjeeling, apart from the scenic beauty there we also got to visit a few famous monasteries and the famous Tiger point.

The people of Darjeeling are really kind, they helped us a lot to find a good hotel to stay in, some even offered us their suggestions on places to visit there.

The memory I will always remember is of the trek all of us cousins took while going to Tiger point, early in the morning the sunlight falling on the Kanchenjunga ranges was a sight to see and should be experienced by everyone once. Darjeeling was everything I expected it to be and I hope to visit there again soon.
