Welcome Speech for Women’s Day (For Schools/Educational Institutions)

Hello and warm good morning to our respected teachers, dear guardians and my fellow students. Today is the 8th of March, a day celebrated internationally as women’s day to show our appreciation, love and gratitude for everything that women do. And on this beautiful day, we have gathered here to celebrate the amazing women among us – our teachers, our friends and of course, ourselves! I am [name], your host for today, and I heartily welcome you all to [institute name]’s women’s day program. We have much fun and meaningful activities lined up for this event and I welcome you all to enjoy the event. Thank you.

Welcome Speech (For NGOs/Clubs/Non-educational Institutions)

Women are mothers. Women are daughters. Women are sisters, friends, wives, aunts and grandmothers. Women are also CEOs, police officers, doctors, engineers, teachers, bankers, lawmakers and politicians. And they fit into all of these roles beautifully. For the longest time, patriarchy made women feel inferior to men. Women didn’t have equal rights and were treated like second-class citizens.

Now, after decades of activism, equality is becoming a reality and women are finally able to shine bright. And so, today is an important day! This day celebrates women – young and old, rich and poor, single and committed, housemakers and office goers – this day celebrates women as they are and for being who they are!

Inviting the Principal to Say a Few Words (For Schools/Educational Institutions)

On this lovely occasion, I would like to invite our respected principal, Mr / Ms [name], to please come up on the stage and say a few words. Sir / Ma’am, please share your thoughts on women’s day with us. Thank you so much.

After the Speech:

Indeed, women can be whatever they want to be! There is nothing one cannot do. Thank you so much for such an uplifting and inspiring message. Thank you, sir/ma’am. I would now request you to please take your seat.

Inviting the Chief Guest to Say a Few Words (For NGOs/Clubs/Non-Educational Institutions)

Women can be whatever they want to be. Women like Indira Gandhi, Kiran Bedi, Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo and Malala Yousafzai prove to us that women are less than no one. These amazing women are role models for us who inspire us through their lives. And today, I am delighted to share the space with such an amazing woman, my role model, and our chief guest, Mrs [name]. Mrs [name] has been working with women who have suffered domestic violence, abuse and assault for over a decade.

She has worked with hundreds of such women and given them emotional, mental and financial support so that they can heal and stand up on their own feet. I feel honoured to have you here, ma’am. I would now request our beloved chief guest to please come up on the stage and say a few words on this occasion. Please, ma’am. Thank you.

After the Speech:

That was very inspiring and motivating. Thank you so much for your love and support, ma’am. Thank you. I would now request you to please take your seat.

Main Event (For Both Educational And Non-educational Institutions)

Women are birth givers. Our mothers carry us in their wombs for nine long months and go through intense pain to bring us into this world. And yet, women are called weak, inferior and less. To express the pain and suffering women go through in this society and to put to words their agony and hope, members of our drama troupe are going to perform a special act. This act is called [name of the act]. Please put your hands together to welcome them on the stage. Thank you.

Thank you so much. Everyone, please give these talented kids a huge round of applause! You may now take your seats.

Now, I would like to invite on the stage our dancer duo, [names]. They are going to perform a fusion dance to the song [song name]. Please welcome them with a huge round of applause. Thank you.

After the Performance:

What a lovely performance! You both did great! I loved how you integrated the emotions that a woman experiences throughout her life into your dance performance. It was beautiful! Thank you so much. Everyone, please give them a huge round of applause!

The anchor can similarly welcome different acts on the stage and carry on with the program.

Special Program (For Schools/Educational Institutions)

Our students have presented us with such beautiful and heart-warming performances. Now, it is the time for our teachers! Yes, you heard it right! Our teachers have also prepared a performance for us. Aren’t you excited? YES! So, let’s put our hands together and welcome Mr / Ms [name of the teachers] on the stage. Thank you.

After the Performance:

Wow! I never knew Ms [name] was not just a mathematics genius but also an amazing singer! And Ms [name] played the piano so beautifully! I am so amazed! What a beautiful and soulful performance! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to prepare this. Thank you so much. Everyone, please give our beloved teachers a huge round of applause! Thank you. Teachers, you may now take your seats.

Special Program (For NGOs)

A woman who has suffered abuse, trauma and violence in the past but chose not to give up is not a victim. She is a survivor. She is a hero, an inspiration for many other women. Today, we have with us five such women who didn’t let their circumstances win over them. They stood up for themselves and made sure they were heard. And they have in their own way, helped many other women find the courage and speak up against violence.
