Dear diary,

Yesterday I went to my school’s independence day celebration. Every year my school celebrates this day with great splendor. I went to school by 8:30 in the morning as instructed by our class teacher. All my friends came to be a part of the splendid flag upliftment ceremony and independence day celebration.

Our headmaster Mr Sudip Banerjee delivered a short speech explaining the sacrifice of our ancestors for the independence of our motherland. Thereafter the most senior teacher uplifted the national flag and we all chanted the national anthem. Like all other years, a cultural program was also organised on behalf of the school. I performed a recitation of poetry written by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Time: 08:30 am.

Dear diary,

I don’t know why I feel special on every year’s independence day. It is not something like a holiday to me. I can’t explain how I feel this day; maybe emotional or motivated. Like the other year, I go to school on this day. This year was no exception as well.

Yesterday I reached my school at about 7:30 in the morning. Every year on the 15th of August my school celebrates independence day with a drill march and of course the national flag upliftment ceremony. One of our PT teachers led us to the drill ground and there our national flag was uplifted. Our national anthem Jana Gana Mana was sung by the students of a school. This very song always gives me goosebumps.

Thereafter, we went for a drill march along with beautiful posters designed by the students in honour of our national heroes. I felt so content after taking part in this program that I couldn’t stop myself from writing it down in the diary.

Our headmistress uplift our national flag and the National anthem is played in the common loudspeaker of our school. Dear diary,

You know, yesterday I took part in a beautifully happening procession on behalf of our school celebrating independence day. I must say that the day was so happening and wonderful to me that I can still feel excited while writing about the day. Like all other years, I went to school on this year’s independence day.

For being in 9th standard this year, I was about to participate in the Interschool annual procession on independence day. As per the schedule, our procession started just after the national flag upliftment ceremony and the national anthem. According to our school’s tradition, the students of class 12 lead the procession and students of class 9 complete it at the end.

We carried our national flag at the very front as well as banners designed in honour of our national heroes. I was carrying a picture of my favourite National Hero: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. At the back of our rally, patriotic songs were being played. The whole experience was so beautiful for me that I would like to take part in such events on every year’s independence day.

That was all about writing diary entries on the independence day celebration in school. I have tried to cover every possible perspective in the session. Moreover, concerning the examinations, the word limit has also been maintained in those writings.
