Sub: Loudspeakers disrupting children’s studies

Respected Sir/Madam,

Children’s attention span is quite short-lived. Any sort of distraction can take their mind away from their work especially studies. Our residential area is quite closer to the markets and we have to tolerate the nuisance of loudspeakers on an everyday basis.

It becomes more difficult for the children to concentrate on their studies amidst so much noise. They suffer the most. During the exam, they have no other option but to study in between these loud noises. The shopkeepers and vendors keep on announcing their different products and discounts going on. We have requested them several times to not use loudspeakers during the exam period of the students. However, our request has only gone in vain.

I genuinely urge you to publish this on your esteemed daily to give a message to the authority so that the problem is solved at the earliest.

Sub: Loudspeakers causing harm to the elders

Respected Madam,

Over the recent years, the use of loudspeakers has really increased for rallies, functions, festivals, etc. The extreme use of loudspeakers is particularly harmful to the elders or senior citizens.

In our locality, there are hospitals and old age homes. Most of the patients are quite old and they suffer from different types of diseases. The sudden noises of loudspeakers are detrimental to their already ailing health. Last week an octogenarian became senseless and fell on the ground, who is a resident of the old age home. The doctor suggested that the loud noises of speakers had an impact on his heart as his heart was in quite a poor condition. The hospital authorities of both places have requested the loudspeaker players to regulate their usage. Yet the situation continues to be the same.

This is a problem that needs to be dealt with with stricter rules. I wish my concern regarding this matter will be given its due importance on your daily and the authority will seriously think about a resolution to protect the seniors of our locality.

Yours sincerely,
Rumpa Dey.

Sub: Use of loudspeakers during festivals

Respected Sir/Madam,

Festival is the time for loved ones to be together and celebrate the good times. But the extreme use of loudspeakers during festivals like Diwali, Durgapuja are becoming intolerable.

At least a month before these festivals, clubs and other associations start playing loudspeakers announcing various news. This continues during the festival and even sometimes after that. Most of the clubs do not maintain the standard level of sound and they usually play them quite above the stipulated decibel. This is very harmful to the health of children, elders as well as animals. Children below the age of five years are not accustomed to such loud noises and they get terrified hearing loudspeakers. This can have a long-term effect on their bodies as well. The use of loudspeakers should be regulated and authorities must take responsibility for that.

I hope this problem will be highlighted in your renowned daily and the authority will take necessary actions for it.

Yours sincerely,
Komal Aggarwal.

Sub: Animals suffering from loudspeakers

Respected Sir/Madam,

Human beings are responsible for maintaining the harmony between nature and civilization. However, in our quest for a more developed world, we have been neglecting the animals most.

The use of loudspeakers is a serious threat to the health of the animals. They are not used to listening to such high sounds and their health is deteriorating because of our negligence. Many birds and puppies are found dead due to the loudspeakers as they were unable to handle the effects of it. Recently, two birds died in our locality near a club. The club was playing loud music on Independence Day and the sound was way above the normal decibel. Dogs and cats try to find a shelter during festivals or national holidays like these when the clubs play loudspeakers. It is our responsibility to keep our animals protected as they too are the creations of God.

It is high time that we take this issue seriously and start building a better environment for the animals to survive. I request you to publish this issue on your daily to raise awareness among the citizens.

Yours sincerely,
Sameer Patra.
